ALCONA BLACK RIVER INVENTORY COMPLETE

The Alcona Black River Watershed Advisory Council (ABRWAC) is a volunteer group committed to protecting their watershed. They have been working with Huron Pines to become more involved in the protection of this valuable resource and completed a road/stream crossing inventory and a geomorphology stream assessment for the Alcona Black River.

Currently, Huron Pines is seeking funding to improve road/stream crossing AB18 (see 2007 report). This crossing ranked most severe in the inventory.

For more information on the ABRWAC project, contact Eric Nelson- Habitat Specialist eric@huronpines.org or visit: http://www.huronpines.org/project.php?projectId=66  (a link to the inventory report is available on this page).

We would like to thank the Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan for providing the funding to get this project off the ground.
