Proposed Theme Park Near Grayling Is Anything But Amusing The Axiom plan for a major theme park near Grayling is history now. This archive has been set up so we have a record of this fiasco. Read More About It Here:
DNR Director Humphries gives Axiom six months to find 168 million or go away: www.record-eagle.com/opinion/local_story_230095333.html?keyword=topstory It has to be a fantasy, a 1700 acre Disney style theme park off 4 mile road. Here are more articles about it: www.record-eagle.com/opinion/local_story_174095539.html www.record-eagle.com/local/local_story_340093223.html www.record-eagle.com/local/local_story_266093035.html www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080708/NEWS05/807080376/1007 www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080709/OPINION01/807090326 www.record-eagle.com/local/local_story_191094618.html www.record-eagle.com/local/local_story_206095647.html www.crawfordcountyavalanche.com/articles/2008/07/31/news/news01.txt www.petoskeynews.com/articles/2008/08/01/columns/doc48920a984a0d0262877396.txt www.gaylordheraldtimes.com/articles/2008/08/02/news/top_stories/doc48935804285c0138438961.txt www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080803/SPORTS10/808030615/1058 We don't need this type of "entertainment" here. A Ferris wheel, aircraft carrier (on dry land!), roller coaster and water park in this sylvan area are just plain foolish. Such an idea is another reason why America is in decline. This is the quiet side of the state. It's for folks who love the outdoors, not all the noise and commotion of "attractions." You can get those in Charlevoix and Petoskey. This is a huge threat to the environment: habitat destruction, water usage, light pollution, noise pollution, non-point pollution are just a few problems. The taxes for the proposed upgrade in infrastructure is another concern, 25 million in a state that is broke. INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Furthermore, the lead person, Patrick Crosson, just came out of bankruptcy for a similar effort in Indiana in the 1990s. He claims he has the funding but won't release the details. Hmmmmm -- This smells like a classic boondoggle. The Music Man Lives! Want to stop it, here's how TIP_SHEET_FOR_AMAZING_LETTER: Write a letter to:
